About Restless Marc
Born and raised in Carson, California, Restless Marc has been around music for as long as he can remember. A third-generation producer, Marc grew up watching his father work in the studio, following a musical lineage that began with his grandfather. By four or five years old, he was already appearing on his father’s records.
His own path as an artist started taking shape at 12. During a visit to his uncle’s house, Marc heard a beat that immediately caught his attention and told his father and uncle that he could rap over it. While they left for the store, he stayed behind and wrote. Their reaction when they returned gave him an early sense that music could become something much bigger in his life. By 14, he began producing his own beats, driven by a simple mentality: if he could learn to do it himself, he wouldn’t have to wait on anyone else to create.
That independence remains a major part of Marc’s approach. Drawing inspiration from artists like JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ice Cube and Travis Scott, along with producers including Dr. Dre, Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, DJ Quik and Cardo, Marc has developed a sound built around atmosphere and versatility. His California roots are rarely far away, with subtle West Coast elements finding their way into his production and delivery, but he has little interest in being confined to a regional sound. No two Restless Marc records are meant to feel exactly alike.
Before Restless Marc, he performed under the name Marc Erixson—a play on being the son of his father, Eric. The name changed during high school when Marc became part of a collective called Restless Records and adopted the Instagram name @restlessmarc. The collective eventually became part of his past, but the name stayed with him.
His career would later face a much bigger interruption. In 2023, Marc stepped away from making music after his laptop, along with his music files, was stolen. Rather than allowing the setback to become the end of his story, he eventually returned with “Really Like That”. That return helped define what Restless Marc wants his music to represent: continuing forward even when life gives you every reason to stop.
That mentality runs through Luv Letta 2 Tha Land, Marc’s debut project and homage to the place that shaped him. The project embraces his Carson and Los Angeles roots while showcasing the range he wants his name to represent—moving between different sounds, moods and styles without abandoning his identity.
For Marc, though, music is only the foundation. After years spent sharpening his skills as both an artist and producer, his focus is expanding outward: collaborating with other artists, producing records beyond his own, performing live and eventually building a presence in fashion, sports and other creative spaces.
The goal isn’t simply to make it in music. It’s to build something bigger from it—and to show what can happen when you keep going long enough to see your vision through.
